I made it home safely. What a wonderful journey. I have an idea for next year. Looking forward to a new adventure. chris.
Going home
Hello everyone this is Chris. Well it is Sunday night April 29, and I will be arriving in Oklahoma City Oklahoma tomorrow morning. I have been informed that I will be speaking either on either 30 April or first of May. I have to tell you the people that I have met on this journey have been incredible, with not any person having a bad thing to say about who I am or what I am doing. But after calling home earlier today, I realized that Oklahoma City is as far as I can go. There are two things that helped me come to this conclusion. The first one is that my body is telling me that to try and go further would cause great difficulty. The second part is it is I am now stretching my financial resources to the limit where I might not possibly be able to have enough financial resources to come home if I go all the way to Chicago.
I look forward to making my speech, and then started an incredible drive home. It just can’t get any better than this.
Well I started my adventure. I have driven almost 500 miles on my motorcycle, and the things that I thought would happen are starting to happen. Remember, this is not easy for me. I’m finding it to be very difficult to ride for more than an hour or two at any one time. But I have agreed to speak at two universities and I will do this. Today I am in Winslow Arizona and a freak storm hit about an hour after I arrived. Even the locals are not used to what is going on. All I can tell you is I am getting on my bike every morning and I am going to try and go, were just going to have to see how far.
Getting ready to go.
Now I am in the last phase before I leave on my trip. And this is where I need you the most. Most everything has been set up so that I can go on the trip, except the finances to actually make the trip. I have a donate button on my website, and now more than ever I need help. I’ve also started a Facebook page and Twitter should be up and running by the end of this week. So I need those of you who see this, to help me help others. I thank you, your friend Chris. And don’t forget to tell others to look at my webpage.

Chris’ Story
Most people encounter small bumps on the road of life. I encountered a hillside. The airplane that I was riding in crashed nose first, almost killing me. What happened over the next 20 years lead me to start mindsdomatter.
Untill the crash I was a normal healthy person. After the crash I spent years recovering from both work and crash injuries. When I was well enough to leave my house, I went to the Dept of Rehab. After a long testing period, I was given a chance to go to Cal. State Univ. San Bernardino. The University was well equipped to handle students with disabilities, so life to me really had not changed. Until I graduated. Then my real education began.
When I started looking for work, I did all the right things to do. I started getting responses, interviews, even being told welcome aboard. Yet nothing happened. It was like I fell of the face of the earth. So, I started asking questions, and what I learned was, this was normal for persons with disabilities. Not just because of the economy, unemployment is high because it is accepted. How can I make this statement.
Just over two years ago, I was invited to a meeting at the California State Department of Rehabilitation in San Bernardino. During the Departments powerpoint presentation, they showed that at that time there was an 82.7% unemployment rate of people with disibilities. I was so shocked that after the meeting, I called my counselor from the dept. of rehab. to confirm this. I was told this was true. She said it is correct. 80 to 85 percent unemployment among disabled persons. I then checked a federal study by Cornell University. The unemployment rate nation wide was 64%. ( The cal.dept. of rehab now uses info from more sources in cal. to come to new figures that show about a 33% employment rate in ca). Ttat is unreal, unacceptable, and someone needs to say something. That is what I entend to do. How?
I started a grass roots movement at Cal State Univ. San Bernardino. The University and I realized that this is something that needs to be addressed. So with their help I am going on a media and college tour. My friends at B&B motorcycles made it possible to get the right bike to use. With B&Bs help, I am going to ride my bike from Santa Monica Cal to Chicago Ill. I will speak to all types of media. Radio, T.V., etc. I will also make stops at universities along the way.
It takes a lot to do this. I need your help. Please help me help others.
Please check out the web page. You will here more of my story and see pictures of the actual plane crash.
